- Do you provide transportation to your resorts?
A// Yes, we do have transfers from the airport or dock. These have to be requested and confirmed in writing to us. We are not responsible for any payment of transportation if not confirmed by us. The schedule for transportation from the hotel to the airport or dock is available at the front desk. If you like to reserve this service please contact our reservation department. - How close is the resort from the Beach?
A// Our resorts are a few steps away from our white sand beach. - Do you have a pool?
A// Yes we have a pool in each Resort. - How many restaurants do you have?
A// Our resorts have one main restaurant serving a variety of cuisines, buffet style. Our Beach Bars & Grill are located just steps from the water and has a variety of Cocktails and extra Menus. - How far are you from the International Airport?
A// Our resorts are just 25 minutes away from the airport. - Which gateway cities have direct flights to Roatan, and on what airlines?
A// We have direct flights from: Miami, Houston (Intercontinetal), New York (Newark), Atlanta, Toronto, Milan & El Salvador. The airlines are: TACA, Continental, Delta, West Jet, Blue Panorama. A// You can travel to San Pedro Sula, our Industrial Capital here in Honduras, which has several international connections: Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Mexico City, Cayman Island, Belize, Spain, Peru, Argentina, and all the countries in Central America and more. The airlines serving San Pedro Sula include TACA, Continental, American, Iberia, Aeromexico, Delta, Spirit and more. From San Pedro Sula, you can connect to Roatan on TACA, Sosa, or Atlantic Airlines. - Is there a mosquito and sand fly problem?
A// We work routinely to control the mosquito and sand fly (or sand flea) populations. We do, however, recommend buying a bottle of bug repellent in our Bouthique at Henry Morgan or Paradise Beach Resort. - Can we drink tap water?
A// We suggest drinking bottled water on the island. - Would you recommend renting a vehicle?
A// If you have plans to stay a week or more we strongly recommend renting a vehicle. Just contact our Guest Relation in order to get the prices and different vehicles to rent. - Do you have phones and Internet available?
A// We have phones in all of our rooms and also at the reception. We also have an internet cafe in each Resort as Wireless connection. - Is there an ATM near by?
A// ATMs are located at the airport and at banks in Coxen Hole (20 minute taxi ride from the resort). Please note that these machines only dispense Lempiras, the Honduran currency. The exchange rate runs about 19 Lempira to the US Dollar. - Are US dollars accepted in the Island?
A// On the island, US Dollars are used as much as the local currency and most places have their prices in US dollars. Many places of business will return your change only in Lempiras even if you pay in dollars. No problem, it’s good to have some Lempiras for tips and such. - Is top less allowed?
A// Generally no, because public nudity is illegal. However those who wish to do so will find that there are certain unfrequented beaches they may go to and privately sunbathe as they prefer. - Do I need a passport or visa to enter the Bay Islands of Honduras?
A//It is always recommended that you travel with your passport, as it is the easiest document to present anywhere you go. In addition to your passport, you will need the Honduran visa application supplied on your flight into Honduras. - Are there any airport departure fees?
A// There is an airport departure tax of about US$ 34.04 per person for international flights and a local or domestic departure tax of L. 27.00 or equivalent in US currency per person. Check with your airline personnel for any changes to these fees. Please note these fees must be paid in cash, either US dollars or Lempiras. - Will I be able to use my credit card on Roatan? Can I get cash from my credit cards?
A// Yes, to both questions. All major credit cards (except Discover) are widely accepted. In restaurants, it is best to ask before ordering, since some smaller businesses don’t accept credit cards. All of the banks will give cash advances, and most have ATM machines at their locations, for after hours cash. Remember that Honduran ATMs only give Lempiras. $100 US is roughly 2000 Lempiras. - Is it safe to walk around town at night?
A// Yes, definitely. Remember that the Tourism Police are here to help you and are very friendly. - Do we have access to the other HM Resorts?
A// You are always welcome if you want to visit our other resorts (property of HMResorts) but you should know that food and drinks in any other HMresort are not included in your package. So you will have to pay for any extra in case that you enjoy these extra services. - What amenities are in place?
We have a large program of activities at HMResorts. Our entertainment team organizes activities every day and a different shows every single day. You are invited to participate if you are staying in any of our resorts.
